Lanka Focus is an independent website featuring a selection of news, articles and interviews that focus on national cohesion, social harmony, and the sustainable development of all communities in Sri Lanka. We aim to disseminate news and information objectively and encourage a positive and constructive analysis and outlook.
Lanka Focus’s target readers are the English-speaking Sinhalese, Muslim, and Tamil younger generations residing in both Sri Lanka and the wider diaspora. Their engagement with, and understanding of, Sri Lanka’s historical issues and current affairs are essential for nation-building in a pluralistic Sri Lanka and for its peaceful and prosperous present and future. Further, we believe that this generation’s already existing involvement and contribution on political, social, economic, and cultural matters are key in connecting them with the community and with each other. We warmly welcome and encourage younger generation writers, analysts, and subject specialists to contribute and share their ideas.
Lanka Focus plans to collate historical documents on social, political, and developmental achievements and setbacks in Sri Lanka during the past half a century and archive them in one place for accessibility to readers and researchers.
Lanka Focus will provide hyperlinks for Sri Lankan English national newspapers, some selected websites of reputed institutions and other websites which are of high journalistic standards.
Lanka Focus intends to be actively present in social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to reach out to the readers.
